Better Communication Webinar Series - Part 2

Easy Read - Using it Well

It can be difficult to know how to make information accessible for people with intellectual disability and easy read is an option used by many organisations.

This webinar is about how easy read can be used well. It will focus on what organisations can do to support people with intellectual disability to use accessible resources like easy read.

This webinar will be presented by Bronwyn Newman.

Bronwyn will share what she has learned from the people she interviewed in her research about easy read and provide opportunity for you to ask questions and learn from one another.

Bronwyn has worked for many years as a social worker in NSW government and non-government disability organisations.

In her work she noticed that many people with intellectual disability didn’t have access to the health information they needed.

She decided to learn more about what easy read can do to meet this need and is currently completing a PhD at UNSW, Sydney.

Bronwyn's PhD looks at how easy read is used to make information about mental health more accessible for people with intellectual disability.

The webinar will be recorded and made available to all people who register including those unable to participate in the live event.
