“Reconnecting” - Challenges for Human Rights in Times of Change
Over the past few months the ASID Board has been discussing plans for the 2021 conference. We are acutely aware of the gap left by the cancellation of the 2020 conference and continuing uncertainty about travel, both within Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand and internationally.
The Board is proposing a new format for the 2021 conference. The conference will be a fully online event. There will be two half day sessions, on Friday 12th November and Wednesday 17th November. Both days will start at 12pm AEDT and finish at 5pm AEDT. Each day will have keynotes and sessions delivered by researchers, service providers, policy and advocacy practitioners, self-advocates or family members. Sessions will be live streamed or pre-recorded. The format will also provide opportunities for networking and to hear about international, national and local research and other initiatives.
The theme for 2021 is: “Reconnecting” – Challenges for Human Rights in Times of Change.
Further details, including call for abstracts, will be available in the coming weeks.
